Craftsman style gates and doors can show a variety architectural details typical of the Bungalow and Arts and Crafts look. Beautiful stained hardwoods are often seen in classic Craftsman style gates,  sometimes with finer detail and more of a Greene and Greene effect.

Cottage style gates share much of the craftsman look,  often painted white to match the house trim and other woodworking.  Lattice or other window treatment is also common.  This classic look also has a long history in English Garden or Tudor settings .

Beach Cottage gates might have accessories such as a plaque, porthole or heart cut-out.  Smaller garden gates can be an entryway at the front yard or a passageway into the garden, sometimes with an arbor or trellis.
